BIO

Daniel “Downtown Daniel” Antelo is a Los Angeles based artist who produces large scale oil paint murals, canvasses, and signage, creating community engagement through art.

His work juxtaposes hyper-realistic pictorials with soft flowing designs that function together to present contrasting yet complimentary abstractions.

These works represent a historical revival of a city’s design history. Daniel believes the marriage of architecture and paint is the key to bringing together a community, making a city timeless. His art nurtures the historical character of a city.

Daniel Antelo graduated from Los Angeles Trade Tech Sign Graphics in 2012. His work has been featured on countless walls, canvasses, and custom signage nationwide.

He refined his disciplines by teaching art at Soledad Enrichment Action in 2013, as well as assuming the role of lead painter for St Mary’s Hospital for Children. Daniel has worked on murals with the city’s youth and engaged the community in several programs including “Summer Night Lights” in Boyle Heights. He also served as artist director focusing on creating a safe environment for at-risk teens, while helping them further their artistic journeys.

Daniel is a proud native son of Los Angeles.
